\nBut why aluminium?<\/strong><\/p>\n

This noble and infinitely recyclable metal<\/strong> stands out for its lightness, excellent conductivity of heat, electricity, and sound In addition to its hardness, impact resistance, and corrosion resistance, which varies on the elements it bonds with. Non-magnetic and durable, aluminium symbolizes circularity<\/strong>: recyclable without losing its essential properties, it is a “permanent material” that can be used<\/strong> and reused endlessly<\/strong>, remaining intact and ready for new applications. <\/p>\n

Aluminum is extracted from bauxite (primary aluminum), a mineral found in the Earth’s crust. However, the extraction process is highly energy-intensive and has significant environmental impacts, including the consumption of natural resources, greenhouse gas emissions, and the production of red mud, a highly alkaline byproduct that is difficult to dispose of. In contrast, the entire FECS Group has chosen to produce aluminum from recycled scrap (secondary aluminum), thus contributing to reducing environmental impact and promoting a circular economy model. <\/p>\n

The production of aluminium from bauxite requires 13 kWh\/kg of energy. By using recycled aluminium<\/strong>, it is possible to reduce<\/strong> this energy cost by 95%<\/strong>, cutting CO\u2082 emissions by 2,000 kg<\/strong> per ton produced and cutting waste by 99%<\/strong> through scrap upgrading. Italy, a leader in Europe, recycles more than 927,000 tons of scrap, 18% of which comes from our Industrial Group. <\/p>\n

The ESG factors <\/strong>\u2013 environmental, social, and governance \u2013 are a fundamental pillar for creating sustainable value. Since 2015, with the Global Agenda for Sustainable Development<\/strong>, the United Nations has set 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) <\/strong>to be achieved by 2030. <\/p>\n
