On March 23rd, the Top500 Bergamo Report was presented via video conference, developed by PwC Italy in collaboration with the University of Bergamo, Confindustria Bergamo, and Intesa Sanpaolo.

The report provides an interesting analysis of the performance of companies pre-crisis, using 2019 data, and forecasts for 2020-2021, offering deep reflections on strategies that Bergamasque businesses must focus on and implement rigorously in order to activate growth drivers.

Preliminary estimates for 2020 outline a contraction in GDP of -10.2% in the Bergamo province, and the expected increase for 2021 (+5.7%) will unfortunately not be sufficient.

The FECS Group, in particular, ranks among the leading companies in the study itself: fourth in the metallurgy and metal sector (analysis based on 2019 data) with positive results, despite the fact that the sector experienced a decline in industrial production in 2019, with a -3.2% decrease in metallurgy and a -4.4% decrease in metal products, leading to a 2.5% drop in revenue.
Overall, the FECS Group ranks 37th (based on 2019 data) in a thriving and continuously innovating industrial landscape like that of Bergamo.
