The exhibition, curated by Anna Daneri and Lorenzo Giusti, will fully occupy the spaces of GAMeC with a rich selection of works. It aims to create a comprehensive narrative highlighting the strong connection between artists and the chemistry of elements, as well as the transformation of matter. This field of research and experimentation is particularly relevant today, as it raises awareness about the impact of human actions on natural balances—from resource availability to climate change.

Our industrial group, FECS, through its President Olivo Foglieni, felt a strong desire to establish this partnership with GAMeC (Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art) to bridge the worlds of industry and art. The goal is to showcase how the realm of materials can be explored from multiple perspectives with a shared objective: raising awareness of the fundamental role of environmental sustainability.

From daily work to art, from complete immersion in creative works to everyday production, the transformation of matter into new life has allowed the Italian industry to thrive over the years. It is also the essence of what an artist achieves through their creative masterpieces.

For our Group, transformation is a core element of our corporate mission. Through this commitment to social and cultural initiatives, we aim to instill a growing sensitivity to this theme.

This initiative also offers an opportunity to engage our employees and their families in activities beyond the workplace. Alongside the exhibition, GAMeC and FECS Group will organize guided tours, meetings, and workshops focused on materials and transformation, forming a journey of artistic and cultural education.

We must not waste time or opportunities to understand the immense significance of recovery, recycling, and transformation, both now and in the future. “We strongly believe that the manufacturing sector is the perfect setting to demonstrate the intersection between art and work, as both are manual and formative. We are convinced that manufacturing is an art, and Bergamo is our key territory. Supporting initiatives like this, through a national and European excellence such as GAMeC, is just the starting point for bringing together two worlds that may seem distant but, when viewed with open and curious eyes, have much in common.” — Olivo Foglieni, President of FECS Group.

Useful Information: the exhibition will be open to the public from October 15, 2021, to February 13, 2022.
