Aluminium is the thread that connects the entire Group.
But why aluminium?
This noble and infinitely recyclable metal stands out for its lightness, excellent conductivity of heat, electricity, and sound In addition to its hardness, impact resistance, and corrosion resistance, which varies on the elements it bonds with. Non-magnetic and durable, aluminium symbolizes circularity: recyclable without losing its essential properties, it is a “permanent material” that can be used and reused endlessly, remaining intact and ready for new applications.
Aluminum is extracted from bauxite (primary aluminum), a mineral found in the Earth’s crust. However, the extraction process is highly energy-intensive and has significant environmental impacts, including the consumption of natural resources, greenhouse gas emissions, and the production of red mud, a highly alkaline byproduct that is difficult to dispose of. In contrast, the entire FECS Group has chosen to produce aluminum from recycled scrap (secondary aluminum), thus contributing to reducing environmental impact and promoting a circular economy model.
