Ciserano (BG), February 28, 2023 – 18 months of work, an electrical power output of 860 kWe, and a thermal power of 1,218 kW, resulting in an annual savings of approximately 1,300 tons of CO2. This reduction is equivalent to 525 fewer cars on the road and 299 more hectares of forest.
The project enables the self-production of 44% of the company’s current electricity needs and 13% of its thermal energy requirements. Additionally, the combined production of energy carriers through a cogeneration system, instead of separately purchasing electricity and gas, provides a 30–35% reduction in energy consumption.
The new infrastructure was designed and built in collaboration with RTS and Ecogenerazione, companies specializing in the design, installation, and management of renewable energy production plants through an ESCo contract model.
These are the key figures of the new trigeneration plant, part of an investment plan focused on energy efficiency and environmental sustainability. The goal is to achieve energy self-sufficiency and greater competitiveness in a market where energy costs are becoming a crucial expense to monitor—for production, competitiveness, and the environment.
“In addition to reducing emissions and generating green energy, we will be able to internally utilize 100% of the thermal energy for the production process, to power our water treatment and recovery system, and for heating our facilities,” said President Olivo Foglieni during the plant’s inauguration. This marks another significant step toward an increasingly green production approach, in line with the strategy of the FECS Industrial Group.
