Stemin, a company of the FECS Group and a national and European leader in the recovery and requalification of raw materials from industrial and consumer waste, as well as in the production of secondary aluminium semi-finished products, continues its path of sustainable investments.

At the Comun Nuovo site, the expansion of the existing photovoltaic system has been completed with the installation of a new plant. A total of 1,038 photovoltaic modules with monocrystalline solar cells have been installed on the rooftops of the warehouses, adding to the more than 4,100 panels already in operation.
Specifically, 510 modules have been installed on the roof of the Stemin warehouse at Via G. Marconi, 41 (Comun Nuovo, BG), with a power output of 269.9 kWp, while another 528 modules have been installed on the roof of the warehouse at Via G. Marconi, 67, also in Comun Nuovo, with a power output of 302.4 kWp.
The new modules offer greater efficiency and lower performance degradation, with a loss of less than 1% per year. This newly installed capacity adds to the 1,032 kWp already in place at the production facility in via G. Marconi, 67, which currently meets approximately 22% of the company’s total energy needs.
Once fully operational, this investment will bring the total installed power to 1,604.3 kWp, covering nearly 35% of the company’s overall energy consumption.
This new photovoltaic park marks another significant step in the sustainable development plan of Stemin and the FECS Group, aiming to further reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and enhance energy self-sufficiency, with a focus on environmental protection and territorial enhancement.
